This policy explains what OwnersFit ("we," "us") collects when you use ownersfit.com and the free Ownership Readiness Assessment, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email hello@ownersfit.com.
The short version
- We collect your assessment answers and the contact details you give us (first name, email, and phone).
- We use them to email you your results and to improve the assessment. OwnersFit itself contacts you only by email.
- We share your name, contact details, and results with a business-ownership advisory partner. Its advisor may call, text, or email you about your results and business-ownership options.
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- We use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel. Under California law, the Meta Pixel may count as "sharing" for targeted ads. You can opt out.
- You can ask us to see, correct, or delete your information.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Assessment answers. Your answers to the quiz questions, such as your goals, timeline, and general financial readiness.
- Contact details. Your first name, email address, and phone number.
- Messages. Anything you send us, such as emails or replies to our messages.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data. For example, your browser and device type, approximate location (based on your IP address), the pages you view, how you found our site, and when you visited.
- Cookies and pixels. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. We use the Meta Pixel to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who may be interested. These tools may set cookies or use similar technology in your browser. See "Cookies and tracking" below.
We don't ask for Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, or similar sensitive financial details. Please don't send them to us.
How we use your information
- To give you your results. We score your answers, show you your results, and email them to you.
- To follow up. OwnersFit may email you about your results. We also share your information with a business-ownership advisory partner so its advisor can follow up with you. See "Calls, texts, and emails."
- To improve OwnersFit. We look at answers and site usage, mostly in summary form, to make the assessment and our guides better.
- To measure and run our ads. We use analytics and ad tools to see which pages and ads work.
- To keep things safe and legal. We use information to prevent spam and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.
Calls, texts, and emails
- What you agree to. Your email and phone number are required to see your results. By submitting the assessment with them, you agree that OwnersFit may email you about your results and may share your information with a business-ownership advisory partner. You also agree that the partner's advisor may call, text, or email you about your results and business-ownership options at the contact info you provided. These calls and texts may be made using automated technology.
- Who contacts you. OwnersFit itself contacts you only by email. Calls and texts come from our business-ownership advisory partner, not from OwnersFit.
- The fine print. Consent isn't a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.
- How to stop. Reply STOP to any text, tell the caller you don't want more calls, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email hello@ownersfit.com and we'll pass your request along to our advisory partner. Opting out doesn't affect results we've already given you.
How we share information
We share information only as described here:
- Service providers. Companies that help us run OwnersFit, such as our website host (NameHero), our customer relationship management (CRM) system (GoHighLevel), email and text delivery, and analytics. They handle information so they can provide services to us.
- Advertising and analytics partners. Google and Meta receive device and usage data through the tools described above. They may combine it with other information they have about you, under their own privacy policies.
- Our business-ownership advisory partner. When you submit the assessment, we share your name, contact details, and results with a business-ownership advisory partner so its advisor can follow up with you. The partner may call, text, or email you, as described above. The partner may be compensated by businesses it introduces you to if you choose to work with one. It is responsible for its own advice and its own privacy practices.
- Legal and safety reasons. When we believe it's required by law, or needed to protect the rights, safety, or property of OwnersFit, our users, or others.
- Business changes. If OwnersFit is merged, sold, or reorganized, your information may be transferred as part of that change.
We don't sell your personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money. But under California law, letting ad partners like Meta collect data through our site to show you ads may count as "sharing" for "cross-context behavioral advertising." You can opt out of that sharing by emailing us or by using Global Privacy Control (see below).
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. We use cookies and similar tools for basic site features, analytics (Google Analytics), and ad measurement (Meta Pixel). You can:
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Change your ad preferences in your Meta (Facebook or Instagram) account settings.
- Email hello@ownersfit.com to opt out of sharing for targeted ads.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a browser that supports it. We honor a GPC signal as a request to opt out of sharing for targeted ads for that browser.
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. There is no common standard for responding to them, so we don't respond to them. We honor GPC instead.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy. Then we delete or anonymize it. We may keep some information longer if the law requires it. Analytics data is kept according to the settings of those tools. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see "Your choices and rights").
Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- See the personal information we have about you.
- Correct information that's wrong.
- Delete your information.
- Stop marketing emails, calls, or texts.
California residents. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, where it comes from, why we use it, and who we share it with. This policy describes that.
- Ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information.
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We don't sell it for money. You can opt out of sharing for targeted ads by emailing us or using GPC.
- Not be treated differently for using these rights.
We don't use or disclose sensitive personal information for any purpose that would give you a right to limit it under California law.
How to make a request. Email hello@ownersfit.com with the subject "Privacy Request" and tell us what you'd like. We may need to confirm your identity, for example by matching the email or phone number you gave us. Someone you authorize can make a request for you with your written permission. We'll respond within the time required by applicable law.
What we collect, by category (for California law). In the past 12 months, we have collected: identifiers (such as name, email, phone number, and IP address); internet or other electronic activity (such as pages viewed and site interactions); approximate location; your assessment answers; and inferences (your readiness results, based on your answers). We get this information from you, your device, and our analytics and advertising tools. We disclose it to the types of service providers and partners listed under "How we share information."
Children's privacy
OwnersFit is intended for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 has given us information, email hello@ownersfit.com and we'll take steps to delete it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we can't guarantee its security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
